đ From the Grimoire: Sarahâs Protection Cookies
(Rosemary Shortbread)
Sometimes, you donât need a heavy loaf of tactical sourdough to keep the shadows at bay. Sometimes, you just need a cookie. Sarah Weathervane knew that boundaries are best built with butter and salt.
Sarahâs Note: Salt binds. Rosemary remembers. Butter⊠well, butter just makes everything better.
Ingredients: * 1 cup (226g) Salted Butter, softened * 1/2 cup (100g) Granulated Sugar * 2 cups (250g) All-Purpose Flour * 1 tbsp Fresh Rosemary, finely chopped * 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
Instructions:
1. Cream: Beat butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. (Imagine youâre whipping light into the mix).
2. Infuse: Add the rosemary and beat for another 30 seconds.
3. Bind: Add flour and salt. Mix until just combined.
4. Shape: Roll into a log, chill for 1 hour, then slice into rounds.
5. Bake: 325°F (160°C) for 12-15 minutes until edges are barely golden.
6. Finish: Sprinkle with flaky salt while warm.
